Dawn Coe-Jones was born in Campbell River, B.C. on October 19, 1960. Her family moved to Lake Cowichan and she began playing golf at the age of 12 at March Meadows Golf Course. She graduated from Lamar University with a degree in elementary education
Dawn was the 1978 and 1979 British Columbia Junior Champion. She was the British Columbia Amateur champion in 1982 and 1983, as well as the 1983 Canadian Amateur Champion. While at Lamar University, she won the 1982 Dick McGuire and Husky Invitationals and was a 1983 first team All-American.
After graduating from university Dawn qualified for the Tour on her first attempt and joined the LPGA in October, 1983. She married Jimmy Jones on November 14, 1992 and gave birth to her first child, a son, James Richard on October 20, 1995. Dawn credits her family, and her husband as the individuals most influencing her career. In her leisure time Dawn enjoys reading, going to the movies, following the Montreal Canadiens and the Tampa Bay Lightning hockey teams, hanging out at the YMCA with her husband and son, going to her son's hockey games and playing golf with her husband.
Dawn Coe-Jones is proud to sponsor the Junior Golf Tournament held at March Meadows each year.
She is currently residing in Tampa, Florida with her husband and son.
